Roma rice is an Italian cultivated variety of rice which has big, rounded and long grains.
Whilst roma rice has high levels of starch, it is a highly versatile style of rice which makes it a great ingredient to use in the kitchen.
Roma rice can be used to produce very soft and creamy style of risotto which absorbs any seasoning generously, but this variety is considered better for soups and other non-risotto rice dishes and for making sweet rice desserts.
